syntax error in xdg-screensaver

Bug Description
In the packaged xdg-screensaver (v 1.0), the following happens for most usages of the command:
$ xdg-screensaver status
[: 771: ==: unexpected operator
[: 771: ==: unexpected operator
enabled
[: 771: ==: unexpected operator
This error is not present in xdg-utils 1.0.1 from CVS.
Additionally this error is detected by the xdg-utils test suite and flagged as a warning.
