Intel wifi ipw2100 card not working but recognized

Hi,

When installing ubuntu 6.10 (also xubuntu) the installation works great, but when trying to configure the wifi card (intel ipw2100) it just does not work. It looks like it is recognized and installed, but never turned on (just guessing).
