k3d is missing a desktop file and thus, it is not displayed in the menu right after the install.

You should subscribe ubuntu-universe-sponsors to any universe patches/merges/etc that you want to see put into the archive by clicking "Subscribe Someone Else". I have done this for you now.

I'm not sure that ubuntu-universe-sponsors should be subscribed if no debdiff is available.
Ali: it seems that a .desktop file is already available in the upstream tarball, but is not being installed when building the .deb.
I will look into this when k3d is synced from Debian.

Adrien is correct - please dont subscribe people to upload if you dont have a fix to upload.

The debian version appears to have been merged - is this still a problem?

Yes, it's still a problem in 0.6.0.0.ds1-1. I'm working on the fix, but it's not easy because the package needs some time to build: 2 hours 50 minutes on the buildds.
The package will use the .desktop file provided by upstream, but I will make a patch to make it standards compliant.

Set bug importance to low instead of wishlist since the .desktop file is here, it's just that it is not being installed.
