Bug Description

Binary package hint: glife

I try to install any program application from the dropdown menu applications->add/remove. I search the application that i want...glife for example and then check it off..then i hit apply and go through the motions. once it gets to the download box i recieve this exact message "E: /var/cache/apt/archives/imlib-base_1.9.14-30ubuntu1_all.deb: files list file for package `libgc1c2' is missing final newline"

I am wondering what this means and how to solve it

Can you please run (in a terminal):

$ COLUMNS=120 dpkg -l libgc1c2

and attach the output?

It seems like you will have to add a final newline to /var/lib/dpkg/info/libgc1c2.list to fix the issue.

Cheers,
 Michael
