Bug Description
Dear all,
we have installed Ubuntu 6.10 (x86_64 ) on a Server with a Tyan S3992 Motherboard.
When we configure the two Broadcom LAN Adapters (BCM5780) with (for example) ifconfig eth1 172.16.20.24, we get a kerneldump and further aren`t any instruction accepted (like init 0, etc.)
We have compile the sources from Broadcom (tg3 3.66d (10/17/06))from the Broadcom homepage:
http://
but same failure.
We don`t use any PCI cards.
When we are using the onboard Intel i82551QM, we have no issue.
With a Suse Linux (like SLES10) it is also no problem with all LAN ports onboard.
We are using two servers with the same hardware (and with Ubuntu same failure :-()
Have anybody see this failure, yet?
Thanks a lot
Florian
