I am using a Samsung r55 (http://
When the battery is running out I get warnings and before the battery completely runs out Ubuntu shuts down as expected. What it does not do is dim the screen on a low battery.
I am using Fiesty with the latest BIOS update. My brightness controls work.

I found out that this is now working in the latest firmware.
