Bug Description

Binary package hint: linux-source-2.6.20

2.6.20-2-generic #3 SMP Sat Dec 16 12:28:13 UTC 2006 i686 GNU/Linux

System freezes very late at shutdown sequence, all three lights (numlock, capslock scroll-lock) start blinking. Has something to do with iptables and module removal on shutdown.

If ipt_MASQUERADE module is manually removed before shutdown, condition doesn't trigger.

Not sure if that's the actual output of reported problem, I had nvidia module freeze the system with a beep earlier when trying to start separate xserver.

well that kern.log seems to display another crash, this happens so late that I'm unable to get SysRq magic work. I'll attach a picture taken with my cell, hopefully it will provide some information.

(sorry for the big filesize).

This hasn't happened with Ubuntu kernels 2.6.15 - 2.6.19. Now with 2.6.20 it happens every time at shutdown.

Bug has something to do with IPTABLES modules. If I manually remove ipt_MASQUERADE module, oops doesn't happen.
