Bug Description

Binary package hint: xserver-xorg-video-i810

After upgrading from dapper to edgy:

$ glxgears
libGL warning: 3D driver claims to not support visual 0x5b

and the gears look completely broken and with very low FPS.

though glxinfo tells among other stuff: "direct rendering: Yes"

When running dual head with glx and dri enabled the x server crashes immediately when running any glx program.

I'm now trying the feisty install CD with my regular xorg.conf (dual head and dri/glx enabled) and it seems to work, I have tried fuhquake (GLX version) with good results. glxgears still prints out "libGL warning: 3D driver claims to not support visual 0x8d" but renders correctly.
