Edgy Synaptic filter section list is empty

Bug Description

Binary package hint: synaptic

Went to Settings/Filters In Synaptic Package Manager to add a new filter.

The list of sections on the Sections tab is empty.

In Dapper this shows a long list of sections to include/exclude, on Edgy nothing .

Which locale are you using?
Does running this command from a terminal give the same problem:
$ LANG=C gksu synaptic
Can you attach a screenshot showing this problem?

Tried:
$ LANG=C gksu synaptic
still same problem.

Locale:
arg@brown:~$ echo $LANG
en_US.UTF-8

I think I should probably change this sometime from US to UK, but I don't think that's the problem.

Edgy is no longer supported. Is this still an issue on Hardy or Intrepid (or Karmic)?
