Bug Description

When booting from an Edgy Live DVD on an Acer Ferrari 4005WLMi (BIOS v S3A19), the IEEE1394 adapter is not functional. I get a message in dmesg "irq 233: nobody cared (try booting with the irqpoll option)". I have tried booting with irqpoll and pci=assign-busses and the IEEE1394 interface then seems to work, but the system is unstable, especially when disconnecting IEEE1394 or USB devices.

I realised that lspci -vv might be more useful. Output attached.

Upgrading to Feisty (linux-image-2.6.20-9-generic) has resolved this issue for me.

Hi James,

Per your last comment I'm marking this "Fix Released" against the 2.6.20 Feisty kernel. I also wanted to let you know that the 18 month support period for Edgy Eft 6.10 has reached it's end of life. As a result, we are closing the linux-source-2.6.17 Edgy Eft kernel task. Thanks.

Changed in linux-source-2.6.20:
status: New → Fix Released
Changed in linux-source-2.6.17:
status: New → Won't Fix
Changed in linux:
status: New → Invalid
