Bug Description

Binary package hint: unity

In advanced keyboard settings, I configured Right Win as compose key.
This setting is overridden by Unity - it won't let me use Right Win as compose key.

Work-around:
In advanced keyboard settings > Alt/Win key behavior select 'Meta is mapped to left Win'

I have the same bug too. Well I marked the #779243 as a duplicate of this bug even if the other one is older, because I think the solution here is important to know, and also, the description of the bug is better.

Thank you for the workaround.

BLN.

I am the writer of bug #779243 and today I found a way to pass the problem.
In the Keyboard Layout Options I use 'Compose key position' and 'Key sequence to kill the X server'.
Ctrl+Alt+Backspace to kill the server means the use of the left Ctrl+Alt.
I think it is not possible to use a key twice in the Options list so I have taken the right Ctrl key in the Compose key position.
Everything is working fine now.
Good luck and success.

This bug is similar, or maybe the same now with other keys, not just Win key.

I tried setting different keys, and onlye Puase key worked.

I'm still affected by this bug, it's really a problem since I can't use anymore Ubuntu to write in some other languages (especially Polish). Before, they was a trick, to push maj while pushing the compose key, but it doesn't work anymore.

Any other known way to solve it ?
