Bug Description

Binary package hint: gnome

A few minutes after an install I changed the System->Preferences menu to include File Management and Multimedia Selector, with the Menu Editor under System->Preferences . When I checked back they were the only option present.

This happens because of a change in Gnome : Gnome now uses a "Gnome Control Center". A link to it should appear in your System menu.

Please reboot and see if it does appear.
If it does run "mv ~/.config/menus/system.menu ~/.config/menus/system.menu.undo-1" in a Terminal.

Thanks,

Do you know any way to change it back?

Thank you.

Thanks for your comments. This does not appear to be a bug report and we are closing it. We appreciate the difficulties you are facing, but it would make more sense to raise your question in the support tracker: https://answers.launchpad.net/ubuntu

By the way you can use the System / Preferences / Main menu editor to get the "old menu" back.

Changed in gnome-control-center:
assignee: nobody → desktop-bugs
status: Confirmed → Invalid
