Strangely this path exist, at least after this error. Reconfiguring that package inside a terminal does not return warning.

I see tons of those warnings. I don't have the loaders.cache file.

Distribution update from natty to oneric, started with "sudo apt-get -V dist-upgrade", showed this error message flooding my monitor for half an hour. Luckily error message flood has completed and computer carried on with dist-upgrade.

I too have seen this message flood upgrading from natty to oneric in a TTY after running the distribution upgrade package as per instructions in the MOTD. I hope the flood goes away as per Eilert's experience...

Output on Precise i386 while upgrading some packages:

GdkPixbuf-WARNING **: Cannot open pixbuf loader module file '/usr/lib/i386-linux-gnu/gdk-pixbuf-2.0/2.10.0/loaders.cache': no such file or dir at /usr/share/perl5/Debconf/FrontEnd/Gnome.pm line 145.
Applying differed changes (« triggers ») for « hicolor-icon-theme »...

(repeated lot of time)
That time on Precise, there is no loaders.cache at all, but a /loaders/ subdir.

This issue is found all over the net http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=625203

My bad, i've looked at the wrong path: /ust/lib/gdk... instead of /usr/lib/i386...

so the loaders.cache file is there and has been updated.

The Debian bug comment http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=625203#40 seems exact (postrm / postinst)

This may indicate that pixbuf loaders or the mime database could not be found.
