Bug Description

Hey there,

I recently installed Ubuntu 11.10 Beta 2; with older Ubuntu versions I used Evolution for accessing my IMAP4 email accounts, so I installed it again and restored the settings file I exported from the old Evolution in Ubuntu 10.04.

There's two bugs that might be connected:

1. Whenever I try to view the inbox I get an error instead: "no such table: mem.INBOX" So I can't read messages from my inbox but reading from the other directories works.
2. Not all the directories I have in my IMAP accounts are listed. Refreshing doesn't help, a lot of directories simply don't show up.

I could not find any workaround for this on Google.

Joachim

FYI-- I was seeing these errors as well, but they seem to have gone away after changing my server type in 'Receiving Email' from IMAP to IMAP+.

Hm, in the meanwhile I switched to Thunderbird again so I can't try it anymore. But maybe this solves a lot of other people's issue.

When I encountered this problem, I had imported my config from an old Evolution's backup. Apparently "IMAP+" is the same IMAP but a better implementation in Evolution. If this is the case, then why does the import assistant not ask me whether I want to use the new implementation or the old one? Maybe it could even switch my accounts to the new implementation anyways without even asking me...

I have the same problem and switching to imap+ for receiving didn't help.

This problem is definitely not because of wrong subscription settings (at least as long as subscription settings work the way they should).

I can confirm this bug, after updating from Ubuntu 10.04 to Ubuntu 11.10.

However, it seems that I have found a workaround.I have uninstalled Evolution completely AND I have deleted its old folders:

~/.evolution
~/.cache/evolution
~/.local/share/evolution

After reinstalling Evolution, it has remembered my configuration somehow, so it has started to download all my e-mails right-away, and the problem has vanished :-)

I hope this info could helps others.

jrierab's recommendation worked for me.

I did lose the folders I created under "On This Computer" but I am pretty sure it occurred prior to my performing the workaround.

Thanks jrierab.

I renamed my original evolution account and then created a new one with the same settings. This new account synced up my mail from the IMAP server without this same issue.
