Bug Description

Under Natty I had a lovely .icc calibration file for my laptop's screen. It's awful without it.

Under Oneiric, when I go to 'Color' in the settings manager only my webcam is listed in the devices that can be colour managed. So I can't install my .icc profile.

I've installed all the gcm/argyl stuff but that hasn't got me anywhere either.

In Natty it works. In Oneiric it doesn't.

I'm using the AMD fglrx driver. My laptop's a Dell Studio 1555.

I share shinyblue's problem, on very different hardware. (Desktop with Nvida graphics and an Eizo screen.) The problem is also a regression for me.

Like him I find that colormgr get-devices does not list the screen.

My laptop, a Lenovo with intel graphics, also upgraded to 11.10 is fine and still finds the profile.

On the laptop colormgr get-devices lists many devices including the screen.

I can confirm I have this problem on my laptop and unable to list the device using colormgr as well, it worked fine in Ubuntu 11.04. My screen has a strong blue hue by default so it would be great if this could be resolved, I've used a hardware calibrator to generate the .icc file to get good colors. Let me know if more information is needed from me.

I also had similar problem with
$ colormgr get-devices
not finding my printer. However, I was able to fix that issue: I uninstalled and installed it again via System Settings - Printers. After that colormgr was able to find the printer. Does anybody know similar workaround for displays?

I have the same problem with an HP Probook 4540s with Intel graphics (it has dual radeon intel but I have the radeon turned off in the BIOS settings).

This bug is still affecting me in 15.10. I even updated to gnome 3.18 and it still isn't fixed.
