Bug Description
Opening a new bug because this happened on Xubuntu using the 2nd respin disk of the day (20111129.2)
I just pulled down the new respin xubuntu 32bit iso. I'm installing to a 32bit VM on a 64bit Host with VMWare as the virtualization service.
The first install attempt was entirely successful. The second was a failure, ending in a random installer crash and apport firing.
Earlier today when I tried this with Ubuntu 32bit on the same VM, it occurred 2/2 times. so far for Xubuntu, it's 1/2 times.
The only difference between the successful attempt and the unsuccessful attempt is that the successful install was a full-disk install while the failed attempt is a side-by-side install.

Thanks. This is same bug as bug 894768. I'm marking as duplicate. The interesting part is that it happens with VMWare this time which is new. I'll comment on the master report.
