Bug Description

Precise Pangolin / 12.04 Alpha 1 has been released, and I have it running on my system, but there is no chromium-daily ppa for Precise Pangolin (see below).

So please provide a ppa for Precise.

PS:

The above is a bug in "chromium-daily-ppa", which I can select, but the bug reporting system then says

"chromium-daily-ppa" does not exist in Ubuntu.

I guess I need to report *that* as a bug? :-(

affects: chromium (Ubuntu) → chromium-browser (Ubuntu)

Please don't mark this bug as "Fix released", revert to "Confirmed".

There should be 4 different versions (channels) of Chromium available as before, see https://launchpad.net/~chromium-daily
Those were maintained by the members of https://launchpad.net/~chromium-daily/+members (or https://launchpad.net/~chromium-team/+members)

The mentioned PPA (towolf's) doesn't offer the same channels as Chromium daily PPA used to, it's patched by the PPA maintainer to fulfill his/hers needs and the packages provided are only for Precise and Quantal. There's an explanation for the current situation by micagh (Chromium team member) at http://askubuntu.com/questions/105102/does-someone-know-why-the-chromium-daily-package-isnt-build-anymore/105487#105487

Also the package in universe is lacking in terms of features and security fixes - Version: 18.0.1025.151~r130497-0ubuntu1

Description should probably say "Please re-establish Chromium Daily PPA and its 4 channels"

Someone with solid knowledge of Chromium packaging has to review the old packagaging against what changed in chromium upstream meanwhile. Debian has pkg-chromium that tracks this but they are a little behind as well.

Packaging chromium daily means having to follow chromium development to some degree. This is someting that ~fta used to do.

I cannot do this, I’m already struggling to keep it building and I only do this manually every few weeks. And, as mentioned I also change keyboard shortcuts in the code because that is the only way to change them.
