I see the same issue in kubuntu feisty beta with guidance-power-manager. Changes during hibernation won't be detected on resume.

I'm facing the same issue on Edgy.
When I hibernate and change the power supply (add or remove AC) while on hibernate, the computer does not detect it when resuming...
Problem is that, after resuming, batteries may be going down until fully discharged (and the computer shuts down without control...)

Similar problem reported with Toshiba Satellite and MSI MegaBook (see bug 102084) and on HP laptops (see bug 63123). Problem is that HAL is still claiming that AC adpater is present.

This is the same as bug #102084, and it is not gnome's fault. This is a kernel bug; ``cat /proc/acpi/ac_adapter/ADP1/state'' reveals it to be the culprit.
