Gksudo does not fail nicely when the user enters the wrong password

Bug Description

When I attempt to access synaptic and I enter the wrong password, it fails with
"Failed to run /usr/bin/synaptic as user root. Child terminated with 1 status"

If I didn't know what that meant, then I would be seriously confused. There is
nothing in there about wrong password
