Bug Description

Gnome-shell seems to be quite unstable recently. It seems one of the things that started occuring the most the last few days is spontaneous crashes from wine and guake, both programs I mostly use in fullscreen. When using guake, it gnome occasionally becomes unresponsive to F12 (the un-hide button). And if I press F12 several times quickly, Gnome-shell just spontaneously quits without leaving any error or message in dmesg. When guake started getting flaky again, I find this error repeating constantly in .xsession-errors:
Window manager warning: Log level 16: STACK_OP_LOWER_BELOW: window 0x2e00008 not in stack
Window manager warning: Log level 16: STACK_OP_LOWER_BELOW: sibling window 0x2e00008 not in stack

Also, when I tried running a fullscreen game using Wine, gnome-shell spontaneously closed. Once again, dmesg didn't show any segfaults, but I managed to pull an error from .xsession-errors that might show a clue to what's going on:
Window manager warning: Log level 16: STACK_OP_LOWER_BELOW: window 0x3600008 not in stack
Window manager warning: Log level 16: STACK_OP_LOWER_BELOW: sibling window 0x3600008 not in stack
Window manager warning: Treating resize request of legacy application 0x4a00001 () as a fullscreen request

Okay, I rebuilt all the mutter packages using the patch, it seems that gnome-shell no longer mysteriously crashes now. Guake still seems to sometimes not respond to F12, but at least it isn't causing the desktop to crash now.

I can't find the new version. I'm using the de.archive.ubuntu.com mirror, 64bit version and I'm up2date but I still see following

# dpkg -l | grep mutter
ii gir1.2-mutter-3.0 3.3.92-0ubuntu1 GObject introspection data for Mutter
ii libmutter0 3.3.92-0ubuntu1 window manager library from the Mutter window manager
ii mutter-common 3.3.92-0ubuntu1 shared files for the Mutter window manager

# dpkg -l | grep gnome-shell
ii gnome-shell 3.3.92-0ubuntu1 graphical shell for the GNOME desktop
ii gnome-shell-common 3.3.92-0ubuntu1 common files for the GNOME graphical shell

Which is the version used to open the ticket.
