I think this is not an AppArmor issue, since I tried with the fully disabled AA:

root@node09:~# echo '' > /var/log/nova/nova-compute.log
root@node09:~# aa-enabled
No - disabled at boot.
root@node09:~# aa-status
apparmor module is loaded.
apparmor filesystem is not mounted.

<did the openstack server image create in the second tab>
