The Core Ontology for Multimedia is a well-founded, DOLCE and MPEG-7 based ontology for describing and annotating multimedia content. The COMMAPI provides a MPEG-7 inspired Java-API for creating COMM graphs in convenient fashion, without the need to fully understand the formal model.
The COMM is hosted on the official homepage and can be considered stable. It might be extended with additional modules, though. The COMMAPI, however, is still under active development, and specifically task-oriented and easier apis for specific problems, or improvements on the general performance and usability are highly welcome. Please get in touch with the core development team if you want to be involved, or just publish your own branches.
