Comment 34 for bug 816739

This bug has been partially resolved with the new off center zooming feature:
https://code.launchpad.net/~emmeran/kicad/kicad/+merge/146282

It can be used by enabling it permanently in the options or just holding down ALT while using the mousewheel.
