I've also asked the MAAS team to build a maas-images with an updated squashfs.

I made a couple changes to lp:maas-images on Friday to make that easy to do

So, to build a image and stream with this content, you essentially need to just set M2E_ADD_REPOS in the environment and then build as you would.

example:
  export M2E_ADD_REPOS=ppa:smoser/lp1711760
