I am running an i5 CPU here; is your computer that faster that you have trouble reproducing it?

Thanks to your hint about the delay between the key press and key release. Paying attention to it, it seems to me that it is not the press-release delay of the click itself that determines whether the click is accepted or not; it is the press release delay of the preceding click that determines the acceptance of the following click. Or maybe even the press-release delay of the second to last click... It is not clear at all here.

Unfortunately, I am not able to confirm such a pattern even by turning on the hover click and mixing hardware button clicks and hover clicks . But assuming that the press-release delay of the hover click remains always the same, it might help finding a pattern about when the problem occurs.
