An extensible script that turns off a server in case there are no active tasks or clients. In addition, it sets the computer's wake up time using ACPI wakeup timer to wake up the machine before the next known activity.

This script has been used successfully in my MythBackend/MythFrontend HTPC server to turn off the machine until the next recording to save power and reduce noise. It can be useful in other type of servers/computers due to its modular "activity" system that allows defining "activity monitors" for any type of service.
