Now the development seems to run again, so we need a packaging!
Why? Most companies flood the market with small sdhc camcorders, these devices did not use .dv files over firewire. For .dv i have kino and kdenlive but these programs cannot handle the mpg files from the new devices. There is no cinelerra and no jashaka deb package for ubuntu.
If i need a bit more video cutting, i have to look for a windoze solution. But why when booth programs are available in source and rpm? Please package them, i read many tries ended up in lib-hell and strange version troubles.
