Please upgrade uptodate your system and retest your bug. Cause here and with gnome i'v no problem.
If it's still present, put steps to do to reproduce your problem.
If you can, install gnome and use gnome-cups-manager to install your printer.
I suspect a problem with kde printing configuration tool.
