It freezes after (though I don't mean immediately after) I login to my
computer (and gnome starts up). It seems to work for a while but if I leave
the computer after it is logged in without running any applications it
freezes (I disabled the screensaver so it doesn't corrolate with when that
starts or anything). It also does it if I have been using an application
like firefox for a bit. It sometimes occurs soon after I begin using it but
often occurs much later, sometimes up to an hour later. The screen shows
whatever it was showing before the freeze, I just can't interact with it.

I checked /var/log/messages with the System Log viewer and it appears to
just contain the bootup messages and nothing new around the time of the
freeze.

None of those keys responded. Caps-lock didn't change the keyboard light and
the others didn't respond either.
