I think that I was having the same thing happen Kyller. I definately
noticed it alot when I was using firefox and apt-get though it happened just
when I was sitting on the desktop too so I didn't think the applications
were associated with it. While it doesn't seem present in my current
install, when I booted off the live cd, it did a similar and likely the same
type of freeze on the disk setup screen (this is when I was just going back
to the disk setup options - not formatting or anything).

I noticed that when it happens soon after booting up, it will likely also
happen quickly after rebooting. If it takes a while before freezing, it
seemed to have a better chance of lasting longer before freezing on reboot.
Occasionally it didn't follow this trend though and I would get things like
three quick freezes and then a long one.
