Hi Michael,

That is correct. I use the following way:

At this point all MP3 files can be played and everything works fine.

apt-cache search <string>
returns a package list.
apt-show-versions <package name>
if not installed and if i want to have it,
apt-get install <package name>

The package installs fine. But if you play an MP3 file using XMMS player, it
does not play the music. In fact the player simply moves over all the files
in the playlist and does not play any of them.
