Hi,

Whilst not able to test on the original hardware, I have installed 8.10 x64
on to a number of systems and not encountered this problem with new hardware
less than 12-months old. I also am a member of the Linux Format (
www.linuxformat.co.uk - user=ollie) and have answered similar queries from
new users being unable to continue installations. BIOS upgrades have always
enabled the x64 installs to proceed.

It is a strange, random bug that seems to be fixed if the BIOS is updated
from those installed on motherboards built around 18 - 24 months ago. It may
just be worth a small note in the installation "readme" that BIOS updates
can fix x64 installation hangs.
