This "find" was done on a 64Bit version of Karmic. I remember that i had tried to install a direct downloaded eagle version ( from Cadsoft ) about one or two years ago.
On a second installation of Karmic 32bit ( Installed as Ubuntu 7.10 and step by step upgraded to Karmic ) i had installed the ubuntu eagle4.16 package. With upgrade to Karmic this package changes to eagle5.4.
On both installations i have the same crash behavior.
