Thank you again for all your help! The original debian maintainer is
away on vacation, so I haven't had his input yet. I don't think it's
the VIA chipset, since copying the file to your home directory fixes
it. The good news is that the newest version of eagle (in lucid and
squeeze) will not have this problem since it copies the file to the
home directory. I'll try to get some input from him, so we at least
understand why we need to copy the file.
