No, try renaming /etc/X11/xorg.conf to (e.g.) /etc/X11/xorg.conf.backup,
then restart the Xserver (ctrl-alt-backspace). That should provoke
autoconfiguration of X. Then please attach the /var/log/xorg.0.log of
this start. Thank you.
