I am running Ubuntu 9.10 x64. I had the same problem as Radek (#38) when using the repository:
deb http://eric.lavar.de/comp/linux/debian/ experimental/
When I added the repository:
deb http://eric.lavar.de/comp/linux/debian/ ubuntu/
and updated to "freemind-0.9.0~rc6+dfsg-1ubuntu0", the problem went away and FreeMind seems to be running fine.
I also the same ".mm" files "Troff" association as Tim (#37). Running:
sudo update-mime-database /usr/share/mime
created the mapping for me. The ".mm" files now identify as "FreeMind Map", and double clicking from Nautilus opens the file successfully in FreeMind.
Thanks for your work. There are no more outstanding issues for me with your FreeMind 0.9.0 RC6 package using the above setup and changes.
