Jason, as I noted in a previous comment:
"I would GREATLY appreciate it if anyone else who believes that they have a similar problem would please file a separate bug; this one has already got very confusing."
At this point I'm afraid I am going to disregard all reports in comments in this bug that are not from the original reporter, just so that I can have some hope of keeping track.
