Wajig is a tool I have used with Debian for some time, and now use with ubuntu. It is a command line system which wraps dpkg and apt-get, with an interactive mode and simple command switches. Kind of a one stop shop. http://packages.ubuntu.com/dapper/admin/wajig
I do have Universe activated. I ran the policy queries, and did receive some rather awkward results:
I suspect this is borne of having at one stage tried out the early third party comiz repos on this particular install - the repos and those packages have been removed, but there are clearly some lingering issues. So I suggest closing/rejecting the bug.
