Comment 26 for bug 32650

I had the same problem (dapper rc, vaio z1rsp)
It was so disturbing, I disabled notify in gpm via gconf, then only the gpm icon blink.

But, now, I've found the solution !
My charger was not strong enough to maintain the charge of my double capacity battery.
The floating in the notification appeared only during a cpu sollicitation or at ~99% of charge.

I've receive a new charger compatible (same voltage), but with 1A more.

And now, gpm is quiet, and the estimation time (charge/discharge) is good.
Then, in my case, gpm said to me : "you have to change your charger"
Maybe, gpm and hal are more accurate then before (I began whith hoary on this laptop)
