Battery indicator is stuck at 30%, while Power Settings and "upower -d" show what seem to be the right remaining charge.

This is a serious issue for laptop users. Wrong charge information can lead to very bad surprise. Nobody is gonna check upower rather than just rely on the visual information provided by Gnome Shell's battery indicator.
