So it is clear, that it is a codepageproblem.
Then I found this:
And everything worked fine. This ( libmono-i18n2.0-cil) package has to be in the dependencies!!!
Otherwise Gnome-subitle is not usable at all!

sudo apt-get install libmono-i18n2.0-cil
