I have updated my system.

version of GNOME VFS is now 2.16.1-0ubuntu7.

I ran gnome-screenshot 20 times in gdb (with ALT-TABing, as decribed in my message dated 2007-02-07 20:09:38) and the problem still exists: sreenshot hangs up after the 20th run.
