This bug was fixed in the package gourmet - 0.14.5-2ubuntu1.1

  * force python 2.5. This should not be needed in 0.14.9 and later
    - debian/control: use 'XS-Python-Version: 2.5'
    - debian/control: Depends on python2.5
    - debian/rules: Replace all '#!' calls to python with python2.5
