Comment 2 for bug 235399

I probably should have clarified that when I select "File >> Print... >> Printer Options >> Contents >> Print black" the black text is not, in fact, being printed with the black ink cartridge, but with the tri-color, and as this cartridge slowly runs out, my "black" slowly turns pink... salmon actually.
