This is still broken in 3.11.10 (see comment #71).

The hpcups driver gives over-printed blacks, using black ink *and* composite colour ink, with loss of quality/resolution in colour
dithering.

Only the hpijs driver works correctly (tried "600 dpi, color, black + color cartridge").
