Can you confirm what version of Ubuntu you are using please, and if you haven't already done so, can you try with the development release of Ubuntu (Karmic) which is now in beta - note you can try with the Live CD for this. Also, Launchpad is sometimes used for translations, it might help to try having a look at that part of Launchpad and change it as necessary for your language so it can be imported into Ubuntu for the next release if we can't get it in for this one.
