When I start language-selector, I do get the "incomplete language support" message, and check-language-support has a bunch too. But this only contains some *-en-gb and *-de-{at,ch} stuff -- the main German -de and -de-de variants *are* already installed. I don't see a need to get a notification about English language support in a German install, so let's consider this intended.
I looked more closely and discussed with Sebastien, and this is actually working as intended. In https:/ /lists. ubuntu. com/archives/ ubuntu- devel/2015- December/ 039028. html the desktop team added those extra language support to the ISO for the 8 main languages.
