In my case, a PC with Asus A7N8X Deluxe with nForce2 chipset, I couldn't force
DMA using hdparm for IDE devices. This is because ide-* modules was loaded
before the specific amd74xx module. When I added this module to /etc/modules at
the beginning of the file, then I could activate DMA. It would be great if this
kind of IDE modules was detected and added automatically.
