P.s.

In step 9 try switching using ctrl+alt+f8, ctrl+alt+f9, ctrl+alt+f7.

Eventually all the screens become blank. I think that it's because the secondary login user gets placed in ctrl+alt+f9, where as before it used to be placed in ctrl+alt+f8,
