Just my two cents. I accidentally installed 32-bit version (out of habit) on my new Latitude D630, and noticed the same huge mispresentation of wakeups. But now with 64-bit Ubuntu the problem is not there, so it's probably something that depends on the architecture-speficic code in Linux.

I'm now having ca. 50 wakeups per second on idle if Bluetooth is disabled (sudo hciconfig hci0 down). Bluetooth unfortunately creates 100 wakeups per second by itself.
